I Want To Be The Next #Mamavation Mom!
If you missed my last #Mamavation post, I applied to be the next #Mamavation Mom. I’m posting my video application again in case you didn’t see it.
I want to be the #Mamavation Moms…
- To have the support structure I need to be successful.
- To reframe my perspective on weight loss, exercise, and being fit.
- To “re-package” my body.
- To have more parts of my body be healthy and firm.
- To gain new healthy living habits and to get rid of old habits that don’t serve me.
- To be given the opportunity to motivate and inspire others.
I Asking for Help
You can help me become the next Mamavation Mom by writing the following tweet: “Hey @bookieboo! I want @createabalance to be the next #Mamavation Mom. She has my support!”
Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for your support. For XOXO to all the people who have been supporting me.
Exercise
My goal this week was to move more – to find extra moments each day to get in extra steps and extra movement. I found myself dancing more when I was in the kitchen, playing more exercise games with my children, and running up and down the steps in my house with intention. On the days when I took the kids to the playground, instead of just watching them play, I either power walked around the playground or I used something to do “steps” (climbing up and down repeatedly).
I’m hoping to win a pair of Earth Footwear shoes so I can burn more calories with every step. Check out Mamavation.com for your chance to win too.
Food
I started keeping a food journal this week. I didn’t write in to consistently, but I’m happy I started one. Keeping a food journal made me realize that my hardest part of the day is from 2-5pm (that’s the time of day my inner eating monster wants to make bad choices). Keeping a food journal is also making me realize that perhaps I need to eat more protein for lunch.
Weight Loss
I stopped taking preventative migraine medicine a few weeks ago and being off the medicine has impacted the scale. I’m thrilled that I’m no longer getting migraines, but my appetite has increased now that the medicine is out of my system and my current medicine is doing funny things to my weight now that I’m no longer on the other medicine. Last week I gained one pound and my instinct is telling me the only solution to this new situation is to work out on a daily basis.
This Week
This week is Passover, which means I won’t be eating my regular routine foods. It also means I’ll be eating every dinner at someone else’s house and every dinner I attend will include heavy food and rich desserts. My goal this week is to make good eating choices and to not gain any weight. I’m going to need lots of support this week.

Yay! I’m so happy you’re applying to be a Mamavation Mom! Good luck with the process, you know you have my support. I’m with you on that whole meds thing, but we will figure this out together. Keep moving and drinking that water. As far as snacking goes, maybe having a little snack sized box of raisins around could help. I’m also hopelessly addicted to trail mix, so maybe that could help too?

Daenel – Thank you for your support! As you move and drink water this week, know that I am moving and drinking too. Thanks for the snack suggestion, I’m going to try it this week.
Sounds like you’ve had a pretty good week…glad to hear you are off of the migraine medication! I’m hit or miss on my food journal, but I find that the more consistent I am with tracking, the better I do with my overall weight loss for the week. Speaking of which…that is another one of my goals this week…to be more consistent with my tracking!
Happy Passover…have a great week!

Good luck on becoming the next Mamavation mom! I’m new here but I can already tell the support and accountability will be a huge help. I hope that you are able to win this round and kick those last 10 lbs to the curb!
Happy Passover

Hi Stacey! Getting fit is a journey that you have to go through, and requires a lifestyle change. You seem to have the motivation to stick to your goals, so good-luck on the journey, and your Mamavation sistas will be here to support you along the way. — @ImAHotMom

YAY! Glad you are applying! You can do this! We will support you!
How about having a salad before you head over to family/friends house for the big meal?!
Anyways, keep your head up and keep moving!
Sounds like you’re on the right track! Bummer about the effects of going of the meds making you hungrier. I’ve been through that before and it’s hard to overcome but water can be very helpful with that in keeping you full! Good luck with Passover week! Holidays are always a challenge but I’m sure you can stick to your guns!
Have a great Passover. This will be a great week for you to develop your intentions. You already are coming from such a balanced place (I would hope so with your occupation) that I am feeling very positive for your journey. Good luck with your campaign.

Great job! I’ve found that the biggest successes I’ve had is when I use a food & exercise journal. Have a great week and good luck in Mamavation!
